Friday Favourites

Every week I read Friday Favourites posts on other blogs, and every week I discover anything from new and interesting bloggers and shops to great books and films and even beautiful places that I can't wait to one day visit. These posts seem to be a great way of highlighting just how many creative people there are that you quite possibly wouldn't have come across otherwise - and think that's why these posts have become some of my favourite posts to read.

Because I love finding all of these new things each week I thought I'd start sharing some of my favourite finds each week. So, without further ado, here are some of may favourite things from the last seven days.

Now, I know I'm a little late to the game with this, but after watching this I was so inspired by Sheena's creativity and just how many amazing way she managed to style just one dress for 365 days. The project aimed to raise money to allow children to go to school who wouldn't be able otherwise. This video documents her fundraising progress as well as the many beautiful and creative outfits Sheena put together over the year.

Now I have't a clue how to knit and if given some wool would probably end up patting it around like a cat, but this post by Kristabel has made me want to learn knit more than ever.   The circle scarf she's made is gorgeous and she even includes a step by step tutorial so you can create you own.

This post couldn't have come at a better time for me. I spent most of last week looking for advice on how to take outfit posts and was really struggling to find one that actually helped me. Jess' post gives advice on what equipment to use as well as how to use it in order to get the best effects - something which I found incredibly helpful. She also gives advice on how to construct your pictures and how to make the most of your fashion photography, from choosing your backgrounds to picking out the details of the outfits you've styled.

This post by Jessica teaches you step by step how to make this adorable origami hearts. The tutorial is so clear and easy to follow, I expect all of my books will be full of them by the end of the week! They're also a really sweet Valentines idea if you're looking for an inexpensive way to add a little bit a creativity to the day.

Now I have to say this trailer does not do this film justice, but it the reason this post is so much later than I intended tonight. Last week I watched Pot Luck, the first in this sequel, and sat down to enjoy Russian Dolls tonight. I love French cinema and lately it's pretty all I've been watching. Romain Durris is one of my favourite actors, he plays his characters brilliantly and is also pretty damn hot which is always a bonus! If you're not into rom-coms I'd really recommend watching him in The Big Picture - it's a great adaptation of one of my favourite books.

That's all for this week - I'm now going to get stuck into all of the Friday Favourites posts that are building up on my reading list.

Hope you have a good weekend!
